Jim worked in the woodshed this morning, continuing to work on the microwave cabinet. Here he's doing some planing...
He made these mounting blocks on the back piece that he will use to attach the cabinet to the wall...
A close up of the millwork design...
Since it was Easter and a beautiful day, we decided to spend the afternoon outside. First, it was gravel duty...
Shoveling the gravel once we got it raked...
We made good progress working down the driveway - it looks so good!
Then it was back to clean up duty from our tree cutting. We had just trunks let so Jim cut them in sections...
Then we carried them to the Bobcat with the forks on...
Loading up...
Jim took the load up to the top of the hill where we are storing them for now. This is a good view of the mountains from this point of the property - once the leaves start filling in, you don't see as much of them.
This was the piece of trunk that was from the very top of the tree...
Letting gravity help Jim move the log down the hill.
Loading up the last of the trees the guys cut down...
The triangle is all clear now!
While he had the forks on the Bobcat, he loaded up the tree sections from the tree he cut down last week behind the house...
All loaded...
Cleaning up work done so we decided to transplant one more fir tree that we found at the edge of the woods...
All dug out...
Making the journey up the driveway. This is a good view of the mountains from the front of the property as well.
Digging the hole...
Doing some hand shoveling to get the tree all straight and secure...
The trees look good in their new location!
We had about a half an hour left of the day - so we decided to play a little on the property! Jim got out the metal detector and we just explored a little area near the edge of the woods....
The beeps tell us we found something so time to dig...
Jim uses the pinpoint detector to locate the object - it is an old square nail.
We found a spike, a couple old square nails, and some type of shell casing. We're just keeping all the treasures in a bucket for the time being.
