Jim put the bucket on the Bobcat this morning and did a little driveway work - he hadn't really smoothed it out since we got our load of gravel and it was getting a bit rutted.
Then Jim spent this afternoon up on top of the stairwell roof continuing to put the asphalt roofing down as a temporary roof until next year. Unfortunately, as he rolled out the material, he discovered that we were going to be just a bit shy because he ended up lapping it a bit more.
We debated on whether I should run to Lowe's or wait until tomorrow but Jim was really hoping to get this job finished today, so I headed out. He continued working as much as he could and was able to figure out how he wanted to do the edges.
Then he started up the excavator to make sure it was going to be in good shape for digging the hole for the propane tank. It started right up and Jim brought it over in position.
Once I got back with a new roll, Jim was able to cut more pieces and get back to work.
Jim was hoping he wouldn't have to put any toe boards on this new section to create more holes. However, that meant he had to work off the ladder on the plank - and this is the steepest roof section on the entire carriage house!
Yikes - standing on the very top of the ladder to reach the peak!
Yay - it's all done! That means we can take the scaffolding down. This will allow Jim to set scaffolding up on the back side of the pole barn.
All cleaned up and ready for winter!
