Jim spent the morning working on our propane tank decisions. He had 3 pages of spreadsheets with all the information he has gathered and the cost projections he did. The issue is mainly with the purchase of the underground tank as well as which size we should have. The company we are currently using has a cheaper price per gallon of propane but their tank is over $900 more expensive. Plus, they have a 4-week lead time on their tanks right now. Also at stake is the amount of gas we have left in our current above-ground tanks - the current company says we lose that when we switch over. So Jim found another company and he went there this morning to discuss our options. He was very impressed with this place - it's a smaller company but very personable, as compared to the issues we've had dealing with the gas company and the co-op. They have a plan for us to use up the gas we have before switching to them and they will also match prices after our first tank fill up. Once Jim was home, the owner of the company even called Jim personally to discuss things. In the end, we've decided to go with this company. They are ordering the tank now and could deliver it next week but Jim is probably going to push it off to the following week. He has a mammoth hole to dig as well as a trench. But Jim has spent so much time on this decision so it's glad to have it made!
Once he was home and ate lunch, Jim worked in the woodshop this afternoon. He built the frame for the opening into the living room...
Looks so pretty now!
He also made another coat rack with hooks for the other side of our porthole window...
