He also made the flashing to go next to the corner trim.
Then he went back to finishing up the sheathing on the overhang...
Final piece up in place...
Then he made all the drip edge pieces for the overhang...
Installing the drip edge...
Drip edge all finished!
Haven't had to use our WIP 300 underlayment in quite awhile but time to get the overhang protected!
Finishing the last piece...
I told Jim that from this angle, we have lots of roof lines going on - crazy to look back and see what we've accomplished! Putting the overhang on the stairwell really changes the look too - love it!
Thankfully, there were no pictures of us actually putting up the corner trim piece - it wasn't easy! This is a really heavy piece of trim plus it is almost 12' long! Just getting it out of the shop and through the scaffolding was a challenge.
Add to all those challenges the fact that we are working on this sandy cliff. I had to stand on the edge of the cliff pushing on the corner while Jim was trying to get it in place - at one point, the ground gave way a bit, filling up Jim's shoes! But Jim got it all fastened in place!
Flashing is next...
We're ready to start marking for the next rows of shingles!
Working behind the scaffolding to start out...
After we got a couple more rows put up, Jim put up the final piece of starter strip so we'll be able to start working all the way across the front now.
End-of-the-day picture...
At the end of the day, Jim worked on the grading a bit more to make sure that if it rains, it will run away from the house. He also started working on the newer 4Runner too - it needs some attention and Jim will fit that work in in his spare time - ha!
