2.21.2016

This was a shortened day because we went to church in the evening, which means an early clean up time, but we still got lots done and the roofline is taking shape over the stairwell.

Jim did some more tweaking of the hip rafter and fit of the secondary ones this morning until he was really satisfied!  Some of the fastening requires acrobatics to reach - and there's more fasteners still to figure out how to reach!

He also got another side rafter made - putting it into position.  The slight bend on the hip rafter causes fit issues all the way around, so Jim has to put a lot more time and effort into getting these rafters to fit the way he wants.

Looking really good though - makes all that effort worthwhile!

Making the next side rafter - this one is out of a heavier steel because it will help support the dormer and keyhole window that will eventually go on this side.

Bringing the rafter up...

Putting it into place...

Always measuring to make sure everything is perfect...

End-of-the-day shot!
