2.4.2016 - Wall Sheathing Finished!

It took all of Jim's nerve to head back out this morning - dealing with water issues is just really demoralizing.  Pictures don't do justice but there was probably 2" of water sitting on the tarps.

Of course, Jim had put the hose and pump away so he had to get all that out and get it set up.  But it did a good job getting most of the water out.

Finally, Jim was able to turn back to building!  He got the next piece of sheathing up and started fastening.

Measuring and getting things ready for our last piece of sheathing!

Putting it up in place (to the accompaniment of a few drum rolls!)

Fastening it down - the sheathing on the carriage house walls is now complete!

Which means it's house wrap time!

I was up in the apartment space cutting the house wrap and then sitting on our landing watching Jim which is why the pictures look like this!

Moving around to the house wrap on this side...

Jim has to move the top section of scaffolding back and forth to be able to reach this side which makes things more difficult.

Jim is putting the tape on - unfortunately, we ran out of house wrap tape.  We only have one more piece of house wrap to go!  But on these pieces, Jim starts by taping the top edge over the top frame so we will wait to finish the last piece until we get more tape tomorrow.

End-of-the-day...hard to believe that we have all the sheathing done now!  Which means that roof work is next on the agenda!

I usually leave the site first and Jim stays to do a final check and lock up.  Today, he was going to move the scaffolding section over so we would be ready tomorrow.  As he was leaving, he took these gorgeous pictures of the sunset on Angel...
