2.12.2016 - Beginning of First Inside Wall!

Another cold day but Jim still headed out to the site in the afternoon.  He did bring the kerosene heater up to where he was working, so I was happy about that!

Today he started working out plans for building the bathroom walls in the woodworking shop.  This is important because this is where he will put the breaker box so that he can start working on wiring the shop.

First was laying out the tracks and transferring the locations of the utility stacks.

Then cutting out the holes - he used one of his newly-sharpened drill bits for the pilot hole and it worked great!

The track fits beautifully over the top of the stacks.

Using the laser level to mark out the location and transfer the lines to the ceiling.  Because setting the walls into place will require drilling into the concrete, Jim had to make sure that the Pex wasn't in these locations.

Using that mark and a pole jack to hold it in place, Jim was able to place the top track in the right place and then get it fastened to the underside of the deck.

Then he set a couple studs in place!  The bottom track and studs have to be fastened but it's an exciting start!
