8.6.2024

We had a quick but powerful storm move through in the early evening yesterday, causing us to lose power and internet.  Again, we were grateful for our generator!  Things were restored within a few hours.

The storm brought in a much cooler day today - we never got out of the 60s, which was lovely!  Jim even had his sweatshirt on for a while when he was working.

The panels for the roof were actually cut a couple inches short.  Jim was hoping that it would be okay, but he has decided to make some extensions to each panel.  They won't show once the ridge vent flashing and ridge trim are up, but it will just give some extra stability.  He tried it out and it will work great...

However, it was an on/off drizzly afternoon, so not good weather to work on a slippery steel roof.  He's so thrilled with the saw because it made cutting these strips so easy and did a great job...

He has all of the extensions cut for the back and is starting on the front...

Plus, he cut the panels for both the air conditioner cage and the package drop box roofs as well...

He continued his clean up work in the pole barn, including cutting up some old pallets and getting them ready for the trash.  Then he went back to some steel work - these brackets are for his wood storage system in the shop...

Setting up the band saw...

High 69.5/Low 63 - what a difference a day makes!  On/off drizzles in PM.
