I had a doctor appointment mid-morning and then did some errands - when I got home, Jim had decided the way he wanted to proceed with the ridge cap. He cut the piece into two; this way he was able to slide the cap on over the vent flashing, similar to the way the hip trim went on...
Riveting the ends to the structure...
Looks amazing!
Looks great from the front side too...
Carrying up the other half...
Starting to slide it on...
However, he could not make two identical sized steel pieces slide on top of each other, not without lots of trying!
So he changed tactics and put it in place, and then had to manually connect the hemmed side of the ridge cap over the flashing...
All in place and doing some crimping...
Drilling holes for the rivets...
Caulking the pieces before riveting...
End-of-the-day picture - he has just a little more final crimping to do and then the roof will be officially done! It looks fabulous!
