Sunday mornings always go by fast, but Jim got all ready to work back up on the roof. Before I got outside, he got the first hip trim all hemmed at the bottom and all the way up the sides...
Moving around to the back side, he marks the location for the bottom cuts/hem...
He uses two straight edges clamped on to the bottom...
Then he is able to use his seaming tool to bend to that straight edge...
Seaming the edges up both sides...
Jim spends half his time outside rearranging scaffolding platforms and ladders...
At the very top, Jim put in rivets to hold everything in place...
This side is officially done and looks fabulous!
Onto the other side. Jim hadn't caulked this side yet, so he took off the trim piece and caulked...
Then slid the trim piece back into place...
Getting set up to do the bottom edge...
Then sealing the edges all the way up...
Then he's back to moving scaffolding and ladders, with the added thrill of working in the tree!
Jim took the trim piece off the back side and started caulking - only to find a tree frog hanging onto the siding! By the time I handed my phone up to Jim to take a picture, we couldn't find him.
So it was back to work - after caulking, Jim slid the trim piece back up.
Working on the bottom...
When Jim got up to the top, he found the tree frog in a different location - check out the line of caulk on the top of his head! It's amazing that he can stick to this slippery steel.
This side is all finished too!
