Jim came up with a way to drill the holes for the pegs on the half rafters in the shop - they have to go in at a strange angle so this made it much easier...
Once the pegs were in, he was able to finish putting the bevel down both sides...
Looks amazing, plus the front rafters are all complete now!
He put up the two half rafters on the side - they fit perfectly but he put a nail at the top just to hold them in place until he can put pegs in.
At this point, it started to drizzle. Jim's tools can't get wet, so we scurried inside. Just in time too, because it rained a bit harder. Jim used the intermission to take trash down. Then the sun came back out and he was able to drag all the tools back out and head back to the pavilion.
He put up toe boards so that he can work on putting a peg at the complicated top joint...
He put two pegs in the hip rafter to connect to all the other elements in this joint...
