5.2.2023

Jim worked in the shop this morning, attaching the other cushion fastener to the seat frame.  He did more blocking and sanding as well.

Then we switched to working on grout!  First, a science project to precisely measure out all the ingredients so that the color will be the same...

Then, it was upstairs preparing the area.  Jim taped areas off and put plastic down for protection...

We had bought a brand new tarp to put down over the floor just in case of a water spill...

Back to measuring out ingredients...

Combining and then mixing is the next step...

Because these joints are so tight and it's a small area with lots of obstructions, Jim used a small plastic squeegee to apply the grout...

This area is all grouted.  You can see this tiny yellow squeegee Jim used for the area between the cabinet and the receptacle - he cut a regular squeegee down so that it would fit.  It worked great.

I manned the water buckets and rinsed sponges so that Jim could clean the tile...

First cleaning done.

Starting to grout the next area...

All grouted and doing the first cleaning...

All grouting done and just waiting for the tile to haze over for the final buffing...

In between, lots of cleanup...

Jim used his sharp pick to clean up areas around the receptacle and edges...

Buffing...

It looks beautiful!

Then all that was left was lots of cleanup!

High 53.1/Low 37.3 - few drizzles alternating with bright sun!
