Mom and I went out for a Target pickup and a couple grocery errands. Jim was busy in the metal shop while we were gone. He cut all these pieces for a temporary bracket for the package box...
Now that it's welded, you can see that this bracket will hold the anchor bolts in place in the concrete...
After lunch, we all headed outside. Jim put these toe boards on the first post...
Then he could use the forks on the Bobcat to lift it up...
Unfortunately, with the rain we had yesterday, there was some dirt that fell into the holes, so Jim had to clean that out...
Then he could use the Bobcat to place the post in the hole...
Doing some initial leveling...
Putting some bracing up...
Lifting up the next post...
This hole had a big rock that fell from the side into the hole that required Jim to practically dive into the hole...
Setting the post in place...
Our first measurement to see how accurate the posts are...
These pictures make it look quick and easy but it took a lot of back and forth to get the posts straight and level on all dimensions plus the perfect distance. But the first post is good and Jim is filling the hole back...
First post all in place...
Bracing the second post...
Time to put all the tools and equipment away and get ready for church!
