Jim started his day heading out to the Drywall Center to pick up his angle order and talk about insulation with his rep. Jim is pretty happy with our trial run of installing it yesterday so they firmed up the order and it should be in sometime next week. It will then depend on weather and driveway conditions for delivery.
Jim did lots more framing detail work today. He finished the rafter tie all the way into the master bedroom, as well as strapping between the studs at the ceiling juncture for installing drywall. In the kitchen, he put up the piece of angle for the top of the wall at the end of the nook.
He then decided to work on insulation a bit and used up some of the unfaced pieces - this is the outside wall in the master bedroom.
As well as putting more baffles and insulation in the second bedroom...
Then he did more ceiling work - so besides the area around the fan, this is a big chunk of ceiling insulation finished!
Jim also spent some time thinking and beginning to plan for the internet/cable wiring - this has to be separate from any power runs so that there's no possibility of interference. That will be a lot more work involving drilling through the steel, putting in grommets and running all the wire.
Jim took this picture just to show the amount of steel in the apartment. His rep at the Drywall Center asked him to send him some pictures of the steel in various building stages - he wants to show the pictures to his steel rep since not too many people use steel like this in residential construction. So that's kind of exciting!
