Jim did more prep work for the blocking in the kitchen - requires a lot of drilling.

He also got the switch box placed and wired to turn on the lights in the attic.

Since I wasn't at the property most of the time Jim was working in the attic, I didn't get to take a picture of the close working conditions.  The front of this picture shows the opening that you have to crawl through to get into the attic space above the kitchen - how crazy is it that Jim did all the flooring and electric work in this position?  Not even mentioning that he had to crawl in and out of this hole and go down the ladder dozens of time.  Only Jim.

This afternoon, we did some more insulation work.  Jim finished fastening all of the baffles in the second bedroom.  He'll still have to do some fastening at the very top but that will have to be done from the attic.

Insulation time...

Jim wanted to use up all the open insulation pieces we had in the apartment, so once he used up the R38, 12" thick insulation, he switched to the R30, 10", that is going in the ceiling.

Putting the insulation up - working around the light box.

Time to bring up another bundle of the R38 - Jim made a rope to help carry it through the carriage house.  It's definitely heavy and awkward!

Working in the master bedroom closet...

End of the day in the master bedroom...

...and the second bedroom!  It's nice to be able to do chunks of insulation work so that Jim doesn't have to be doing it all day.  And we're making good headway!
