Jim started the day by going to get more steel. His contact is going on vacation after today so Jim wanted to put another order with him before he left. He also picked up two pieces of 10" steel for the remaining ceiling joists in the second bedroom.
For the remainder of the day, Jim did steel work and details. He filled in the remaining studs in the hallway/kitchen wall...
Jim got the studs over the top of the door frame of the living room all installed and everything fastened together.
Then he did the top of the laundry room door frame. He decided to put an extra spar on the bottom to give it extra strength for the barn door.
Because today is the Epiphany, we have a tradition of doing an Epiphany Home Blessing. You are to mark the main door of your home with the initials of the Magi and the numerals of the new year, connected with crosses:
We found an especially fitting prayer to say this year...
Bless O Lord God Almighty, this home,
that in it there may be health, purity, the strength of victory,
humility, goodness and mercy, the fulfillment of Thy law,
the thanksgiving to God the Father and to the son and to the Holy Spirit.
And may this blessing remain upon this home and upon all who dwell herein.
