Jim ran across this picture - this was taken in September of 2015...a real eye opener on just how far we have come since then! There is no apartment so no roof, siding, windows... And that was before winter! Maybe he'll believe me now when I say that things are moving along quickly - but probably not!
Quite a contrast with Jim working in shorts and t-shirt in the picture above, we got a mixture of freezing rain and snow this morning - Jim took this picture of our little pine trees next to the driveway all loaded down!
I was at home working today so Jim took a few pictures but they don't capture all the work that goes into finishing up the detail work, nor does he take pictures of each of the areas that he was working! He also finalized his next steel order and sent that in at lunchtime.
This is the inside of the closet in the master bedroom - putting up angle and blocking to enable drywall to be attached.
Lots of detail work in the second bedroom too - Jim had to make angle to attach both ceiling and wall drywall. The plan is to get insulation and drywall on this front wall before putting up the inside closet wall. Since there are no load-bearing walls inside, it's not required for strength and will make a tighter insulation install.
The angle had to be taken all the way to the end wall and provisions made there for attaching.
On a different note, Jim cut some leftover sheathing pieces that we had to start putting down an attick floor.
So now through our secret door, you can see the flooring over the joists in the second bedroom!
