Jim got the starter piece up on the west wall...
He also came up with a great way to get the angle pieces cut. Unfortunately, we are running out of time for good painting weather and that can bring everything to a halt. Jim set up this jig to lay out all the angle pieces and numbered again to keep them organized.
Then I first primed and then painted all the edges and let them dry (sometimes using the heater to blow dry them!).
It's really difficult to work on these west wall areas - Jim has to try and work while crouching on the sloped roof.
All of the pictures today will be through the scaffolding!
Jim put planks over to help him be able to work better as well as have a place for tools and shingles, but he's still working in precarious positions - like this one where he's practically standing on his head!
Making good progress...
In the afternoon, Jim took me up on the scaffolding to get a birds-eye view of all the front accomplishments. But I sure get an even greater appreciation for how hard it is for Jim to work so high in the air - and this is nothing compared to working on the peak! I was glad to get down on terra firma!
Working higher...
A couple end-of-the-day pictures...
