7.20.2024

Jim is just starting to tear into the saw to do some cleaning and tweaking.  He ordered a new saw blade for cutting steel that came in today...

Jim discovered that the flashing/venting for the roof was the wrong size.  He contacted the company and they sent a box of the right size (the smaller one in front).  You really have to stay on people it seems!

Jim went up to the shed and brought down more scaffolding pieces to build up on the other side.  After lunch, we started working on assembling...

This is old scaffolding and came with challenges.  One section started and working on the other...

However, setting up scaffolding on this side was really difficult.  Jim had to do some hand digging and eventually had to get a concrete block because this side really drops off in the back...

Plus - too many tree branches here!  It was a constant battle working and trying to build around them.  Tomorrow's first job will be to cut some of these branches as well as the ones that will hang over the roof...

We finally got the base units done - time to put the next section on top...

Working among the trees...yikes....

All done!

Jim wanted to spray out our garbage cans and then the Bobcat, but he had issues with the power sprayer.  It worked fine when he put it under the pavilion, but after investigating, the nozzle was clogged with bug junk.  We have discovered ants that must be between the roof material and underlayment.  We've sprayed but we are going to do a big spray tomorrow.
