After lunch, Jim headed up to the pavilion to work on marking the panel lines on the back side. You can hardly see him among the tree branches. In fact, he eventually cut a few branches down that were hanging all over the scaffolding. We're probably going to cut this beech tree down once the roof is finished because it's already starting to die at the top.
Working on the other side...
Once he got all the marking done, he got a notice that his new saw blade was just delivered, so he went down to the drop box and got that....
He tried out his jig on a piece of old pole barn siding. It took a couple tries to figure out the best technique, but he got the angle cut perfectly!
So he brought up his jig and tools to the pavilion to do the first cut of the roof panels...
It worked perfectly!
First three panels cut...
He had the very tiny corner to cut too, so he's setting up for that...
First pieces installed! This is going to look so fabulous, and Jim is just thrilled that his methods are working out so far.
