Jim worked in the shop this morning - he got the first rail glued on the barn door stile...
Using his shoulder plane to get a perfect fit...
Then he got the top stile fit and glued - that is one big door!
In the afternoon, Jim headed out to do some machine maintenance. The Bobcats are so valuable and keeping the joints greased is very important...
The excavator has lots of joints that need to be greased - Jim can use up a whole can of grease...
Then we did some rough layouts for the upper driveway. It's in pretty good shape down here, but Jim knows it needs to be cut a bit more near the top. So a couple stakes in the ground and then Jim eyeballed the next section while I marked them...
We also did some brainstorming about how we wanted to extend the porch concrete to meet up with the driveway...
Using our stakes, Jim started cutting the edge of the driveway back a bit...
Good progress - it looks great!
After Jim got all the equipment put away for the night, he cut some grass to finish off the work day.
