We're having coffee pot failures around here - first it was Mom's Keurig and now our trusty Cuisinart is acting very wonky. I discovered that its 3-year warranty was just about up, so I called them. They are replacing the unit, but Jim had to cut the cord and I had to send a picture of the cord severed. At least we'll have two brand new coffee makers so hopefully we'll be in good shape for awhile!
It was a strange day - it was supposed to rain but then it didn't. We kept checking the forecast and changing our plans! Inside, Jim got one side of the barn door all caulked and sealed...
Jim attached a quick-connect to the outdoor faucet so that he can store the hose when not needed and in the winter...
We finally decided to chance heading out - Jim only brought out the necessary tools so that we could have a quick cleanup if it started to rain. He started cutting the secondary beams to 12'...
The saw would only go so deep, so he used his Japanese saw to finish the cut...
Jim was able to get all three cut and then it started raining. We headed into the pole barn to stick the last pile of wood to let it air dry better...
Jim used one of the cutoffs from the beam to make a squaring block for when he has to drill through all the beams to make the holes for the pegs. He wants them to be as perfectly square as possible, so this will help him...
Cutting the block to the right depth...
He's going to size it a bit, but now he'll be able to use this with his auger bit to get a straight hole started...
