5.9.2022

Jim has been working on plans for both the pole barn lean to and the pavilion that would house an outdoor wood burning furnace.  This morning, he took them to the town building inspector to see if he needs permits.  Unfortunately, the inspector that helped us through the building process for the carriage house retired, so there's a new guy.  He was so new that he didn't know the answer about the lean to so he had to check with his boss.  He called Jim later and apparently he will need one for the lean to and won't for the pavilion.

After that, Jim went to the glass company and ordered the mirrors and shelves for the medicine cabinet and seeded glass for the entertainment cabinet.  It will be a few weeks until those come in.

After lunch, we headed back outside.  Jim brought quite a few loads of smaller rocks up...

We concentrated on filling in the back and side of this area...

Once we got it to a good point, Jim was able to slowly push a load over the edge and the rocks tumbled down and mostly filled in the holes...

Of course, some mountain climbing and rearranging was required...

More loads...

Moving rocks...

It's basically done now - once the lean to is built, we'll finish close to the building but it looks great now and should prevent erosion.

Then he began the slow ride up the driveway with the excavator...

High 73.6/Low 34.2 - frost advisory
