Jim had some maintenance jobs to do today - he wanted to adjust the pole barn garage door so that it opened up a bit more...

Then he had some Bobcat maintenance to do - gotta keep it running!

Sharpening the chain saw blade...

In the afternoon, we headed up to the top of the hill - today's job was to move this big pile of logs.  They are from a tree that had fallen and we cut it up and moved it up here years ago.

These logs are huge!  Jim is starting to cut this one in half...

He used the forks on the Bobcat to flip it over so he could cut the other side...

He got it cut and then used the Bobcat to separate the pieces...

Moving it back to our newly-cut staging area in the woods...

Moving the other half...

Cutting the next one...

Thank goodness for the Bobcat and the forks...

Because these logs are enormous...

The outside is decayed but look how clean the inside is.  If we get our outdoor wood burning furnace, this would provide a lot of heat!

Lifting the last one so he can cut it...

These logs are out of the way back here - if we don't cut them for firewood, they'll just continue to become part of the forest.

Mom had been sitting on the patio but she came up to see our progress - Jim walked her back to show her all the logs...

Doing a little back dragging of this area...

Log pile all gone!

This is the oak tree we transplanted last year - it must like its new spot because it has lots of baby leaves on it!
