Jim continued working on the drawers - these are assembled and the edges turned over...
Using his router to turn the edges so that there are no sharp corners - plus it looks so nice!
Next challenge was to fit the fronts to the drawer sides...
Just testing out for appearance in the cabinet - beautiful!
Jim has maple plywood to use for the drawer bottoms; however, he has 1/2" and it also comes in 1/4". He would like to use 3/8", especially on the bigger drawers that will hold my pots and pans. So he experimented running a piece of 1/2" plywood through his belt sander.
His drum sander hadn't been used in a long time and while it worked, it also broke the sanding belt. Jim has already ordered more that will come in Monday (Amazon is amazing).
The drawer bottoms will be covered in Formica just like my shelves - best idea ever. Kyle brought some more white Formica that he had left over from a job which sure is helpful! Cutting the Formica...
A stack of Formica ready to go...
Next, Jim had to make the rabbet cut in the drawer pieces for the shelf...
Mid-afternoon, Jim headed out to plow the driveway from all the snow we got yesterday. But now he could just plow - he didn't have to worry about making it perfect for a big gas truck to get up the hill!
Off to church!
