I didn't get a picture of this until on our way to church last night - Jim got the backs of the drawer bottoms painted with a coat of polyurethane just for protection...

Today, back in the drawer factor, Jim got all of the dovetailing work done on the smaller drawer backs...

Sanding...

He's trying a different approach with these drawers - he glued all the dovetail joints together first.  He'll let them dry overnight and see how it works to spray them with polyurethane when they are assembled.  That way, he won't have to be so concerned about protecting the dovetail joints.

He got the rest of the drawer bottom pieces cut and sized...

Then he started sanding them to the thickness he wants them...

He got two of them sanded and a coat of polyurethane on the bottom...

Putting polyurethane on the bigger drawer pieces...

It was an extremely windy day today - we're expecting snow tomorrow.  Mid-afternoon, the power briefly went out and the generator turned itself on right away.  However, the power did come back on quickly too so the generator shut off.  But another good test of the system heading into winter!
High 36/Low 17 - windy!
