7.16.2019

So the squirrel saga continued today.  Jim left to get a haircut this morning and was happy to see that there was no further damage outside.  However, we had set a couple of mousetraps in the auto bay attic in case mice also worked their way inside.  We learned the magic formula of peanut butter and mini chocolate chips when we were in the apartment! Jim discovered that the traps were licked clean without tripping and were scooted around the floor, which mice shouldn't be able to do.  Which meant that when he put the plywood over the eaten soffit, he trapped the squirrel inside!  When I went to the post office, I stopped at the hardware store and got a rat trap (huge mousetrap!) that Jim also set.  He went down into the auto bay and heard some noise - the squirrel had gotten into the rafters and down into the auto bay!  Jim had to chase him around but finally got him chased outside.  So we'll see if he tries to come back tonight!

Besides squirrel hunting, Jim made some other accomplishments today.  The paparazzi caught him making some new flashing pieces...

Completed pieces....

All installed - this was a loose end to figure out flashing in this area.  Jim wants to get concrete poured this summer here so this needed to be done.

Then it was moving and organizing for the rest of the day.  Jim emptied out one of his cabinets in the metal shop...

Loaded it onto the Bobcat...

And wheeled it into the pole barn.

He moved it next to the door so that it will be accessible but take up the least amount of room.

He set it up on some blocks just in case of water and then started filling it up with his automotive supplies.

He needs to get the auto bay all cleaned out so that he can epoxy the floor so all this is a necessary evil.  That requires moving cabinets around in the metal shop doing a lot of emptying and sorting!
