His first stop was to the building department. There's a gray area on what needs to be done on the pole barn in order to get our final permit approval. Jim took this pretty picture before he left and headed out. He was quite surprised to find out that Jerry, the building inspector that we have worked with the whole time we've been here, retired. He had been talking to Jim about that for awhile but apparently he left in November. There is a part-time older gentleman there now and they are interviewing for an inspector. Jim showed the inspector the picture and told him that the weather turned before we could get the concrete down and we wanted to wait for the concrete to do the garage door. It sounds like he will approve it anyway so he may come out tomorrow to check it out.
Jim's next stop was to the garage door company that he has been talking to about longer frame pieces for our garage door since the auto bay roof is so high. They were able to get him 2 pieces of 10' track that will work great.
Once he was back home, he started working in the auto bay again. He wanted to get all the prep work done on all the walls. He pulled off the house wrap and got it all folded up - you never know when that comes in handy!
But behind it, the walls were quite dirty. So he used the shop vac to clean them...
They look beautiful now! He'll be able to start work extending the electric lines over to this area.
Jim also did more rearranging - he brought up another pallet from our stash and put it inside the pole barn. Then he brought out the extra windows that were in the shop and got them all tucked inside the barn.
He also got the top section of scaffolding off from inside the auto bay and took it out to the barn.
