1.3.2019

We woke up to 3" of snow this morning!  First thing, Jim placed a call to the tree cutter to make sure he didn't try and come out.  But he had gotten snow too; he'll fit us in the next good day.

Jim was excited to start working today in the first bay - the real auto bay!  First thing he did was remove all the house wrap that we had on the inside from long ago.  Then he figured out where he wanted to place receptacles and cut the foam for the first box.

Then he got the wire path cut down the whole west wall as well as the boxes placed, which requires drilling into the concrete.

Next he started running wire and wiring up the receptacle boxes.

The first two boxes are all wired up and Jim cut the steel nail guards and placed them over all the flange areas of the insulated concrete forms to make sure he wouldn't fasten drywall through the wire.

Jim wanted a trim board at the bottom of the wall - he had previously bought PVC trim boards for this purpose.  That way, any water on the floor from wet cars or just the moisture inherent in the concrete won't cause any issues with the drywall.  He cut the boards in half and decided how he wanted to fasten them to the foam.  He got this first section all figured out and installed!

Jim keeps saying that he feels like he never has a day without interruptions and today was no exception.  While he was working on the electric, he heard a big truck backing up the driveway.  It was the gas company to pick up their small tanks - which was scheduled for tomorrow!  Figures he would come when there was snow - we were concerned about that when they scheduled it and they were going to try and call first to see how the conditions were.  Obviously that didn't happen.  Then he backed up the driveway by the pole barn and Jim had to redirect him to the other driveway and around the back of the house.

The guy had to disconnect the tanks from the house and then got them read to be loaded them up....

All gone - the back of the house is all clear!

High 37/Low 26 - 3" of snow overnight
