Jim worked on making treads for the stairs this morning.  There are enough now that you can walk up and down (carefully!).  It's getting very exciting!

After that, it was brick prep work - cutting brick and block, putting on ties, and getting things marked.

Time to make the mortar!

We're on the top course of stubby brick on these sides...first one in place.

After that, we moved around to the front and started working on the block under the overhang.

Then it was finishing up the top course of stubby bricks on the front...

Jim had to put more brick ties on top of the block before continuing...

At the end of the day, Jim worked on quite a few things - he cut more brick and block for tomorrow's batch, painted the back side of the lintel over the garage door, and then did more stair work.  He got this stair run anchored to the top and made more treads.  I can't wait to walk up it tomorrow!
