8.20.2016

Jim's surgery was yesterday - it was a long day.  We had to be there by 8:45 and didn't get home until after 3:00.  Thankfully, all went well - the big stone was still lodged in the tube.  The doctor was able to laser that as well as 2 smaller stones in the left kidney.  He did have to have a stent put in, which caused him considerable pain all evening.  But he woke up this morning feeling much better!  He is now taking only Tylenol instead of the heavy pain medicine.  In face, he was better enough to go out to the property late morning - with strict promises not to work out in the sun or do anything too taxing!

He finished fastening down all the treads - we now have a complete working staircase from downstairs up to the apartment!  It is amazing to be able to use the stairs now instead of walking all the way around the carriage house.

Then Jim spent some time putting the front window of the Bobcat back in its frame.  This is a really difficult job but he finally got it.  It needs one more part to make it stay in place in the frame.

While Jim was working on the window, I got more Miratek trim boards painted.  We're making a good dent in getting all the new ones painted.

Later in the afternoon, we went up and played around again with the apartment layout.  It's really good to do this - we already changed the location of the closet in the master bedroom and where we want the washer/dryer to go.  It helps to see it in person and be able to walk the layout as opposed to just having it on paper.

Jim did a little grass cutting and then came home.  He definitely doesn't have all his energy back yet so I'm glad he's not pushing it too much.
