8.26.2016

We were so glad for today to finally come - Jim's appointment to have his stent removed after surgery.  He's been quite uncomfortable so it will be so good to have this behind us.

His appointment wasn't until 12:30, so we headed out in the morning to do a few errands.  We went to Lowe's to pick up more oil for the pressure washer and to look for lights.  We want to start with some recessed can lighting for the stairwell - but there are so many more choices now than the last time we were shopping for lights!  You have to decide between size, trim, baffle and that doesn't even include the light bulbs.  But we decided on a few to get started with, so that's good.

I also picked up a bunch of paint chips - little premature but I was looking for a color for the garage doors.  Jim is so good about paint and always tells me that we can always repaint...except for garage doors.  In order to do a good job, Jim has to take them all apart so it's quite the production.  I'll have to find the perfect color!

Jim's appointment went as well as it could - uncomfortable procedure but he feels so much better!  He has to go back in November for another ultrasound and exam just to make sure all the swelling is gone that resulted from the stone being stuck for so long.  I'm so happy to see Jim feeling better - it's been a long week!

We came home and ate, and then headed out to the property.  Jim took it slow today but was happy to get some work done.

He started back on the overhang - now that he has the truck back, he could get the steel out of the back and cut the next piece of angle.

Just as we did for the roof, Jim has to mark the location of the studs so that he doesn't hit them when he is installing the siding.

Then it was back to sheathing.  Putting up the next piece...

Putting all the screws in...

Cutting the end piece...

...putting it into place.

It's so nice to have stairs!  We have extra OSB up in the apartment and Jim can just carry it up and down the stairs now!

Next piece up...

Made good progress on the overhang - we are really happy with the way it looks so far!
