6.18.2016

Jim had kind of a rough morning up until lunch time with his apparent kidney stone issue - one episode was really bad.  Thankfully, after lunch he felt better and was fine all afternoon.

I ran to Home Depot this morning to pick up a 240V plug for Jim - he is temporarily making a connection from the pole so that he can use both water and electricity at the same time.

Wiring in the new plug...

Then it was time for our new adventure - masonry!  Our first project is to build the knee wall in the downstairs shop - this is what the staircase landing will attach to.

First Jim had to make sure all the equipment was clean and ready to go.  He used the Bobcat to move the brick & block saw outside and then cleaned it well with the power washer.

Cutting block in half...

Time to make the mortar!

Jim always makes sure to clean the mixer right away so that it stays in good shape.

Getting ready for the first block...

Working on the first course - always the hardest.

Making sure everything is level...

Starting to build up...

Working around all the Pex...

Working on the last course - we used up our entire batch of mortar.

Then it's clean-up time!

Just have to build a little higher - looks great!
