Unfortunately, Jim didn't get as much work time as he would have liked. He had to go back to the physician's assistant this afternoon to follow up on his blood work. He had to wait for awhile in the office and once he got seen, it was kind of a waste of time. His blood work was all fine and he was told to come back if he had another episode. I told Jim if he has another one, he needs a scan to see what's going on! But thankfully, he's felt great ever since Saturday. Hope it continues!
Jim spent the morning hours getting the front section ready to go for bricking. This is the brick layout for this section - each of the bricks that has an X in it means it needs cut - so there is a lot of cutting to be done!
Jim got his laser level out and did some markings on the front wall. He also put up a board on the side where he wants everything to end based on how he will finish the sides by the garage door.
...and on the side to make sure everything will line up perfectly with all the steps as well as meet with the other bricks on the back corner.
Time to start all that cutting!
This is our cut brick pallet with all the different sizes needed for this section! That way, Jim can get bricks ready to go and it's easy for me to get him the sizes that he needs.
With all the prep work done, time to make the mortar!
Starting in the front...
Putting in the brick ties...
Getting the corner done...
Making sure everything is level...
Doing the final jointing...
End of the day...just in case, we covered the brick again. Since it rained last night, we were glad we took the time to cover the back section.
Cleaning up after a good day's work!
