Jim was back to building up Nudura today. And in the realm of me always being amazed by the preplanning he had to do, today he had to cut some of the Nudura to make pockets for the beams that will sit on top of the wall.
These are the pilaster areas and where the vertical steel is shorter - in this picture you can see that the concrete will go up to the top of the form where Jim cut and where the steel is and the beam will sit on top of that!
These were tough areas to figure out - lots of custom Nudura work involved.
But once that was done, Jim was able to continue building up the back wall!
Then...drumroll please...he started putting the last row of Nudura up to see how it worked! This uses optimizers which are 12" instead of 18" in order to make the wall 10 feet high. Before placing them, Jim has to cut all the teeth off the top since there won't be any more courses on top!
Looks really tall from outside now!
And really big from up above!
