Whew...another hard-working day. It was back to digging the front footers.
Again, this is a slower process because Jim has to be cognizant of where he places the dirt and rocks and then has to keep moving the dirt pile. He's been putting a lot of the dirt to build up the area that kept getting washed away with the rains. This is the area that we will use for temporary storage of building materials and may eventually house a little barn.
Once Jim got to a certain point, he had to position the excavator outside the footer area since there is a big opening on the other side where the footers are!

It looks really deep when you are standing in here - and looks like the other side is very far away!
There is always a lot of hand crumbing to do!
Once we got the footers dug, Jim compacted the whole area.
The front footers are all dug! The footprint looks really big from up on top.
