Because of the rain, humidity and wildfire smoke, we've had our air conditioning units on for about a month straight! Last night it was so beautiful - low humidity and temps got into the low 50s, so we had the windows open and enjoyed the mountain air!
After his computer work, Jim resharpened his drill bit that he uses for boring. He got all the tools and equipment up to the pavilion before lunch, and then worked on finishing the mortise he started yesterday...
Bottom part done - putting up jig for diagonal...
He got that mortise all completed and then repositioned the Bobcat - it's on a slant and into this big fir tree, but it works! The jig is in place and he's scoring the outline...
Jig in place for the diagonal and scoring...
Testing to see if the brace will fit and it's perfect! Now 8 of the 10 mortises are finished!
After Jim got all the tools and equipment put away, he did some grass cutting.
He also put up our Christ in July sign on the drop box - because the driveway can be challenging in the winter, we give our delivery people their Christmas tips in July!
