Jim started the day down in the shop, prepping and gluing more wood for the cabinet...
Then he got a call that our building permit was approved and ready to be picked up (and paid for!). So he took off for the Town Hall to get that taken care of. We've been waiting over two weeks with perfect weather - now there's rain in the forecast this week. But this was step one!
Doing some investigative work, figuring out how he's going to get the air conditioning tubing outside...
I had a Zoom book club meeting this afternoon, so Jim did some outside work, installing the flashing he made to go at the top of the brick around the auto bay and overhang...
Stretching over the rocks to reach this section. He has to make one more 4' section of flashing and this project will be done.
Then it was time to work upstairs in the wall cavities - attaching conduit holders to the studs...
Uncovering this last section of insulation...
Jim had to move the AC unit out of the way to drill the hole for the plumbing...
Now Jim had to slowly, inch by inch, bring the tubing up through the walls from down below, being very careful not to twist or kink the tubing. He would go down below, unroll a section and push it through, then come upstairs and pull it up the wall cavity...
It's up to the final cutout - but now how to get it to bend through this hole?
Jim took the unit off the wall to double check how it would connect up...
Pulling it through the hole...
He put the unit back up to check position. He still has to get wiring and the condensation drain tube through this hole - yikes! He decided to take the AC unit down to the shop and switch the drain tube to the other side so he has more room.
This was a big step to accomplish and figure out so definitely a good day!
