 Jim did a test fit of the air conditioner cover in Mom's room today...

Outside, he did markings for notches in the posts to inset the header beam...

He made a lot of thin cuts to a measured depth...

Then he chiseled out the cut areas...

One done - 3 to go!

This is a lot of work - the saw is heavy and Jim has to hold it above his shoulders and make all these cuts.  Add to that this last post where he has to use both the ladder and scaffolding and still can't get good leverage.

All 4 posts are notched now!
