Jim did more millwork in the shop this morning - cutting the grooves in the moveable shelf for the cabinet...
Jim is going to put borders on this moveable shelf for extra stability - the borders are below left. He also put the pocket screw holes in other pieces...
Gluing the border on the shelf...
Jim put the holes in the sides of the cabinet for the moveable shelf...
It was another gorgeous day so we decided to spend the afternoon outside. This pathway that leads from the top of the hill down the back of the property was always one of our favorite spots. We wanted to get it cleaned up some. Jim had cut some of the scrub maples that were encroaching...
Jim cut some more trees and then set up the chipper. I started dragging up the trees and branches and Jim started chipping...
Looking so much better - you can see the path now! There is an original rock wall going down this path that you can see on the left of this picture. Unfortunately, the company that was timbering the property right before we bought it just pushed through it to get to the trees they wanted, so we eventually want to get it built back up.
After finishing chipping, Jim was explaining the rock wall to my mom as well as showing her all the acorns and little pine trees in this area...
We had a little more time so we cleared a few more trees and chipped them up as well...
What an amazing difference!
