Daylight Savings Time started today - who else feels like this? This day is supposed to be a harbinger of spring but it didn't look like that at our house today - we had snow! But that's good - we're not in any hurry for it to go away.
After lots of coffee, Jim started the day by attaching my newly-modified towel rack on the kitchen cabinet door...
I'm so happy to have this up - I hated just laying towels around!
In the workshop, Jim got ready to attach the kitchen sink to the countertop! He marked the exact spot where the sink needed to go and then hot glued these alignment blocks to the countertop. That way, the sink will be in the correct position when Jim puts it in place.
Time to start gluing - the first line of glue goes near the outer edge of where the sink lip will be...
Then Jim went all the way around making these radial lines from the original bead. If he just put two beads of glue, there is the potential to trap air between the two - this prevents that.
Time to put the sink into place!
Clamping it down to hold it secure while it dries...
Another clamp through the other hole - then Jim was checking to make sure a good bead of glue was along the inside edge was well. Whew! Big accomplishment - now he's just going to let it completely cure until tomorrow.
After doing some clean up work, Jim used the rest of the day to do more plastering on the outside bathroom wall of the shop...
And inside on the newly-drywalled areas...
High 30/Low 10 - little bit of snow! |
