Jim went back to work in the kitchen today - it was time to dismantle the plumbing system. He had to cut the drain pipes and cap them so we didn't get any odors into the kitchen...
Then he had to take the valves off the water lines...
Then we had to lift the sink cabinet up and get all the plumbing to come through the holes Jim put in the bottom - it worked perfectly!
Jim got the cabinet centered - all of his measurements worked perfectly to get all the holes exactly where they needed to be...
We had moved the refuse cabinet out of the way so we could maneuver the sink base - look how pretty all this is going to look!
Next job was to attach the cabinets to the back of the wall (using our blocking hidden behind the walls)...
Then starting to fasten the cabinets together...
Jim made a special jig to make sure that the hole was perfectly straight through both cabinets...
This was the perfect opportunity to do some cleaning of the heater underneath the cabinet...
Putting the access door in place...
In preparation for next steps, Jim did some marking for where he will place blocking to hold the countertop...
Jim did a little modification on the old countertop before bringing it back up - he cut the end off so that it wouldn't interfere with any of the work he will need to do in order to get the dishwasher plumbing and electric worked out. Then he brought it back upstairs...
Putting the countertop back on...
End of the day!
