Jim got a surprise this morning - he just happened to open the bathroom window to look out and saw that once again the top outside window pane is broken! Hard to tell in this picture but it's definitely broken!
Just as a precaution, Jim put tape on the inside of the window...
Then put some foam board inside. It's going to be a cold, snowy weekend - definitely not time to take out a window!
The rest of the day was all about kitchen cabinets! Jim first marked the placement of the glides in the drawer cabinet...
Then pre-drilled the holes to make installation of the glides easier later on...
Then it was time to take apart my kitchen cabinets on the front wall. While we did, we definitely were mindful of how grateful we are that Jim found these cabinets free on Craigslist just days before we had our occupancy inspection. They have worked out great! I first took everything out of the cabinets and then Jim started dismantling...
Jim turned off the water valves and took apart the drains...
Jim had to take off all the attachment screws that held our temporary plywood countertop on (again - it's worked out great all this time!)...
Starting to move the cabinets into the wood shop. Jim has plans to use them for storage, so we will continue to make good use of them!
Jim took the doors off the sink cabinet to prevent wall damage as we carried it down the stairs...
Then we started bring the new cabinets up - first the refuse cabinet...
Then the drawer cabinet in the corner...
Jim had to do some measurements and figure out how he wanted to do the plumbing for the dishwasher; then he drilled the hole in the side...
Jim got out his moving straps for me to use in bringing up the bigger and heavier sink cabinet - it worked great!
Jim will work on the plumbing tomorrow but all three cabinets are now in the kitchen and are going to look fabulous!
