Happy anniversary to my wonderful husband! Yes, although we say we try and celebrate "us" all the time, we actually do celebrate two anniversaries a year - this is the 20th anniversary of our church wedding. Amazing how time flies - but love you dear!
In the shop today, Jim had to do lots of prep work for the next stages in the cabinet - all the millwork. Jim wants these shelves very strong because they will be holding lots of weight, so he's making cuts in the sides and back to hold the shelf in place. First, sharpening his bit...
Jim has things marked and is ready to start making the dado cuts...
Using his straight edge as a guide, he makes the cuts...
A finished dado cut into the back piece...
Jim showing me how the shelf will fit perfectly in the cut...
Jim has the blocking glued in place where the cabinet will attach to the wall blocking. He had to put a dado cut in the blocking as well because that's where the wall blocking ended up. That's why each of the shelves are a bit different in size.
Look at all the man glitter he's been making!
