3.5.2020

Last night, Jim had pretty much decided that he was going to call the gas company first thing this morning and let them know about the state of the driveway.  With the warmer temperatures and the snow melt, the upper driveway is very soft.

Well...Jim had just gotten up about 7:30 when I heard the distinct beeping of a truck backing up.  Jim hurried and got dressed and went out.  Meanwhile, the driver (not "Cowboy" as Jim had requested) was trying desperately to make it up but was sinking in the soft surface.

He eventually just pulled the hose up the driveway - it just made it!  So we got over 400 gallons of gas in the tank at a cheaper price - we won't have to worry about gas until late fall!

Of course, the truck left giant ruts in the driveway, for which the driver was apologetic.  We were just happy that there wasn't any issues with the truck - Jim told him that he had a Bobcat and would take care of it.

Which is precisely what Jim did later on in the afternoon...

Jim spent a big portion of the morning, running all the new wood he bought yesterday through the planer and getting the first pass done.

All done...

Then Jim stacked all the wood on the rack...

Check out the bow on this piece!  Actually, the fellow at the lumberyard gave this board to Jim free (we love free!).  Jim was using the jointer to straighten it out and make it useable.

Then he started cutting and sizing pieces of the maple for the other cabinet side piece...

The frame is done and glueing...

We decided to make it a date night tonight so we headed into Saratoga Springs for dinner at Bailey's Cafe, one of our favorite spots.
