3.1.2020

Wow - March.  How did that happen?  I'm really not too anxious for winter to come to an end.  I like being in the carriage house, snug and warm, watching it snow outside, and having Jim build me kitchen cabinets.  What's not to love?

Yay for New York State - the single use plastic bag ban goes into effect today.  Interesting how things come around again - we went from paper to plastic and now back to paper, except that you may have to pay for paper now.  I'll continue bringing my reusable bags!

This morning, Jim's first task was to hang up a picture I got for my little reading area...

Looks perfect!

Inside the house, Jim brought up some pieces of door frame molding and started fitting them.  He got the rest of the vertical pieces all cut to size in the master bedroom...

And in my office.  Now that they are sized, he'll install them all at once and then be able to do the horizontal top pieces.

In the shop, it was back to work on the next cabinet pieces.  He got the other door panel made...

Then started fitting the door pieces together...

One all glued...

And the other...

Jim also made and milled the maple piece for the other side of the bottom shelf of the cabinet...

All glued and drying...

Jim cut his day a little short to go meet some person who came up from south of Albany for a Craigslist sale.  Always good to get rid of things we don't want or need anymore and let someone else use it!

We'll see how the weather goes - we do have a little snow forecast this week so maybe that counts as the lion!
