Jim had to start the day with a visit to the eye doctor - just a routine check. Everything was stable so we were happy with the great news!
Jim continues to do a multitude of different jobs during the day, keeping all the tasks moving along! He spent a little more time taking down some scaffolding...
...as well as in the kitchen.
He had to crawl up into the attic again to work on preparing for the microwave vent - he drilled a hole for the duct work.
Then after lunch, we mixed up a batch of Thinset...
He got started working on installing the tile - he had to first start with the hardest spots around the toilet and Pex tubing.
That section is done...
Continuing on...
The amount of Thinset worked out perfectly with the tiles that Jim had ready - no waste at all! Not too much left - one more batch will finish the floor.
After we got the Thinset mess cleaned up, Jim decided to take down a bit more scaffolding. It's not as daunting if you do it in sections.
Looking crazy good now that you can see more of the back!
Then it was back up into the apartment to do some drywall. For this next piece, Jim had to undo the light switch wiring...
We got the piece cut and marked and moved into the bedroom. Jim is cutting out the small hole for the switch box...
Then it's up in place and he's cutting out the rest of the switch box...
Doing all the fastening...
All finished!
While Jim was working on fastening, he had me made this drawing of two of the kitchen walls, with measurements of the studs and all the blocking. He'll put all my chicken scratching into the computer and that info will help him once drywall is covering all this and he has to install cabinets!
We decided to move the 10' drywall that was on the floor of the kitchen into the master bedroom. That way we have access to start working in the kitchen when Jim is ready.
At the end of the day, we came home for quick showers and then headed out to Home Depot for supplies. We actually stopped and had some nachos and beer to celebrate some of our latest accomplishments!
