The floor looks beautiful today - it probably needs a bit more cleaning on the grout lines but we'll wait a few days so that we don't damage the grout.  Jim just set the utility tub in place but that's where it will be!

Jim worked most of the morning making copper flashing cap for the peak of the stairwell where it connects to the house.  This is an area that has to be very well flashed to prevent any leaking.  Of course, this took many trips up and down the scaffolding and roof.  Jim first made it from aluminum and then out of copper.

Attaching the flashing cap...

A close-up view all in place...

Zip tape over the top edges...

Jim was able to get the few shingles that we had ready installed - then he spent time figuring out the next course.  (Only Jim could sit like this up on top of the roof jacks on the very steepest roof section of the carriage house!)

The next few shingles cut and primed...

Then we transitioned to drywall.  Jim had spent some time this morning stuffing insulation in these little areas around the side of the door.

He had to take apart the switch box - not an easy one because this is a triple switch.  Then he got the first piece of drywall up on the side...

Putting up the next piece...

Rewiring the box...

Switches back in place and piece attached...

Putting up the last piece on this side...

Then working on the other side.  This side was a bit more complicated - the pancake screws that Jim used to attach the doorframe caused some issues.  But he got it all worked out.

Next piece up...

Both sides done.  He has a little more insulation work around the top of the door and then we can finish this section!

High 76/Low 59 - beautiful!
