9.2.2017

Another busy day as always.  Jim cleaned up the tile this morning...he used a special tool to clean out the Thinset between all the joints.  Then I washed the floor to get rid of any loose Thinset.

As promised, Jim let me walk on it today!

Jim got the rest of the fascia board up on the back side of the stairwell.

He had to make some complicated copper flashing...

But then he took the first old toe boards off the roof and did some cleanup and marking...

Putting on the first starter row of shingles...

You can see all the flashing and diverter pieces that Jim made to protect this area...

The first row is done - now Jim will be able to work on step flashing, roofing and shingles!

We didn't get up to work on drywall until after 3:00.  Jim first had to make some angle to attach the drywall in the closet area of the bathroom.

Cutting out the first piece...

Putting up the first piece on the slanted roof area...

Jim and I both held the next piece in place until Jim could get some screws in.

Now that the slanted area is done, we moved on to the bathroom wall.

Attaching...

Jim wanted to do the wall piece in the closet before the next wall piece - again he had to make and attach some steel angle first.

Putting the first piece up...

Then the final piece is in place and Jim is fastening it...

This next piece was almost full size so it was a really tight fit to get it in the bathroom and up into place.

Once it was mostly fastened, Jim got his Rotozip out and cut off the piece next to the wall.

Just one little piece to go - looks amazing!
