And we continued the good progress today. We just about used up our sand pile, so Jim brought up a couple more bucketsful.
Then I got busy filling up the buckets for the mortar mix - each batch requires 3 buckets of sand.
Jim had done lots of prep - more markings on the walls and more brick ties.
First batch of mortar ready...
Starting on the front corner again...
Then moving around to the back of the auto bay - still kind of difficult working amongst the scaffolding.
Working down the back of the main structure...
Worked up to another step...
Jointing time...
Jointing the back...
After lunch, Jim spent a little time greasing up the machines to keep everything in good working order.
Doing more brick cutting...
Second batch of mortar ready to go...
One more course on the front...it's getting pretty high now!
Bringing Jim mortar...
...putting it on his mortar board.
Working along the side wall...
Then moving around the back...
Jointing...
Cleaning up...
A few end-of-the-day pictures...the side...
...the back...
...and the front.
Jim worked on cutting block for the area next to the people door that we didn't get blocked last year. That needs to be done before we can do any brick in that area. He also got a little grading done while the soil was still soft from the weekend rain.
